Cornwall Museum and Art Gallery
Activites during the Summer Holidays
Whats on at Cornwall Museum and Art Gallery over the Summer Holidays?
Cornwall Museum and Art Gallery in Truro should be on every local families’ itinerary this summer holiday. Head into Truro on the train if you can, and take a stroll down the hill to River Street where you’ll find a welcoming, affordable and family-friendly museum packed with things to discover and do together.
The Summer Program centres around the Cornish Myths & Legends exhibition and, as well as a magical trail around the galleries, there are plenty of opportunities to get stuck into free creative activities. These change every few weeks during the holidays, plus there’s a schedule of one-off pop-up events and workshops. No two visits will be the same, making Adult Annual Passes the best value £10 you’ll spend this summer (under 18s go free).
The museum is great for SEND families, with sensory guides and trails, and Sensory Backpacks to aid laid-back visits. Bring a picnic and enjoy the new garden at the front of the museum, or pop next door to the Arts Café to refuel.
The Museum Explorers Club (booking required) has two dates coming up in August. These free sessions are for families with children of any age during school holidays. Enjoy healthy snacks and seasonal craft activities in the museum’s learning space, and a playful explore of the galleries. Delivered in partnership with Healthy Cornwall who support with healthy eating and practical advice for families.
